Even though it looks simpler once you configure it really took lot of time for finding the proper settings... Even the representatives in Customer Service Centers provided the configuration details, it didn't worked with my mobile. Online search also not helped much. Finally called customer care(1503 from my mobile). Just followed IVRS instructions to talk with customer care executive. He asked me to try following steps.. With little modifications it worked....:)
Follow these steps for configuring 3G on your N900 mobile.
1) Type a SMS as "Nokia N900" and send it to 58355
2) You will receive 4 configuration messages. All the messages will ask for a PIN. Type 1111 as PIN for all the messages. And save the settings.
3) Go to Settings -> Internet Connections -> Connections.
4) Check how many connections are listed there. If you found bsnlnet there use that as your default connection for accessing GPRS.
5) For me, it listed only bsnllive in connections. so i have edited the bsnllive connection. I have changed the access point name from bsnllive to bsnlnet. Other settings are same as default.
Thats all.. I am able to access all the sites...
Depending on the signal strength it shows 2.5G/3G/3.5G on the device...:)
